For decades now, the Australian oil consumer has been neglected and their warranties left vulnerable.
There has been no enforcement by regulatory bodies of any certifiable standards, and what has been going in your engine has been largely a hit and miss affair.
All that is going to change!
Governing industry bodies, Environmental agencies, even Manufacturers are beginning to enforce vehicle recommendations and global standards in the Australian Market and those service centres claiming to use certified and/or endorsed oils need to ensure that they are. Vehicle warranties are vulnerable and service providers need to be aware many manufacturers specify the use of certified oils be used whenever servicing their vehicles.
Many brands claim to "meet or exceed" the standards set by the API but only products independently tested can substantiate performance claims made with independent test data.
"Be aware that some marketers may indicate their products 'meet' API requirements. This is not adequate."
As Stated by Detroit Diesel
Major name brands do not automatically achieve certification and you’d be surprised to know that some of the biggest selling brands in Australia have NO CERTIFICATION at all. What this means is no independent testing. At the end of the day, what do self issued credentials really mean? Credentials only mean anything when somebody else issues them. It’s like buying your own trophy and engraving it “player of the year”!
Let’s say we were making chicken soup, one version using fresh certified organic ingredients and the other using canned substitutes, which would you prefer? I mean at the end of the day you could argue they were the same, both chicken soups, right? Yeah - we don’t think so either.
Many Vehicle Manufacturers specify to only use independently tested and certified oils or your warranty may not be covered and yet service centres across Australia continue to use non-accredited oils often not realising the exposure they carry should a failure occur. United Oil provides peace of mind and guaranteed product spec with every batch of quality United Oil, substantiated with independently issued credentials we earn daily. NO GUFF AND NO FLUFF.
With the ever increasing affects of climate change it is now more important than ever to do what we can to minimise our footprint on our planet. Manufacturers in co-operation, and often not, with Global Government Bodies are pressured more and more each and every year to reduce emissions and produce “GREENER” motor vehicles. Inturn lubricant manufacturers are required to produce oils and lubes able to withstand the higher demands placed on lubricants by extended drain periods, urban traffic grid lock (perhaps it would be more appropriate to talk about running hours instead of kilometres these days), but predominately due to aggressive new vehicle designs. Reduced fluid capacities, increased torque and horsepower transferring through smaller engines and transmissions and reduced cooling capacities, oils are required to work much harder for longer in a modern motor vehicle.
Realising this many years ago, United Oil began development of a revolutionary formulation to address just such issues now and in the future, a new range from United Oil called Ecomax.
Ecomax motor oils are specifically designed to minimise emissions production and protect vital components in a vehicles emission system without compromising lubricant performance. Using Advanced Chemistries and a Superior Synthesis of Synthetic Base Oils, ECOMAX combines these sciences with the most sophisticated additives package on the planet to produce oil that not only outperforms conventional motor oils but also provides maximum protection to a vehicles emission system. Formally coded GF-4 and soon to be revised to GF-5, Ecomax motor oils are consistently evolving to remain the top tier in modern engine protection and will soon encompass our most recent break through, “Nano Technology”. Available in Petrol and Diesel formulations, Ecomax has you covered no matter the application.
Benefits include:
- Improved Fuel Economy on average 5% and can be up to 20% (depending on driving conditions) * results sae specific.
- Excellent oxidation resistance which means less oil thickening;
- Excellent deposit protection so that the engine won’t form harmful deposits as quickly;
- Excellent engine wear protection;
- Excellent high & low-temperature performance over the life of the oil; AND
- Reduced emissions of up to 70%, compared to conventional oils.
Our intention is to remind consumers Australia-wide that the simple, educated choices we make can often make the most significant differences. It’s as simple as an oil change.
Only producing high quality current spec oil and lubricant products for the Australian market United Oil are leading the way with transparent quality practices and product development, forcing our competitors to get with the times, and revitalising a stale and stagnant market. Our intention is to change the face of lubricants in Australia and create a new benchmark for transparent trade practices and quality.
Our long-term plans for the Australian market are to consistently provide high quality manufacturer specified oils and lubes at market leading prices. Committed to the continuous education of Australian consumers on the importance of manufacturer specifications and using certified and independently tested oils to not only protect their warranty – but most importantly to ensure they have the optimum oil for their vehicle maximising vehicle engine performance, efficiency, life and ultimately driving pleasure.
Service centres using United Oils endorsed diesel products can rest assured when servicing the heavy vehicle market, as United Oil is approved for use in MTU Detroit Diesel and Volvo, and has been tested, met and exceeded the latest requirements for MACK, Daimler Chrysler – Mercedes, Scania, MAN, Cummins, Caterpillar and Isuzu, United Oil even carries a VW factory approved 507.00 spec motor oil.
MTU Detroit Diesel state you may only use Certified Oil in
Detroit Diesel engines.
The ILSAC or International Lubricants Standardisation and Approval Committee comprising of representatives from the lubricant and additives industries as well as representatives from The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Daimler Chrysler Corporation, Ford Motor Company and General Motors Corporation have been entrusted to jointly developed and approve a lubricant coded ILSAC GF-4, a minimum performance standard for gasoline-fuelled passenger car engine oils. This standard specifies the minimum performance requirements (both engine sequence and bench tests) and chemical and physical properties for those engine oils that vehicle manufacturers deem necessary for equipment performance and life. GF-4 is the latest manufacturer recommended specification, with a GF-5 revision on the horizon.
Even though our primary focus is developing High Technology Lubricants of the future like our factory recommended and certified GF4 products, however, United Oil carries a full range of petrol and diesel engine oils as well as a comprehensive range of lubricants catering for all lubricating needs including full ranges of Industrial, Gear, Transmission and Specialty Products. All United Oil products are covered by a comprehensive guarantee covering service centres and consumers in the unlikely event of product failure, assuring the service centre proprietor of manufacturer backed assistance in the event of a claim.
In keeping with the United Oil philosophy, we take great pride in providing honesty, integrity and uncompromising quality. With the complexity of the current requirements and constant changes in designs and technology, it’s easy too see why a knowledgeable supplier is so important. That’s where
United Oil comes in, as an experienced partner with the products to meet today’s standards – and the knowledge to meet your future needs.
